MegaBoost™ Compression and Web Accelerator Technology accelerates certain text and graphics on Web pages. With MegaBoost Web Accelerator you will notice a significantly faster experience when you visit web sites, send and receive your email, upload and download files via FTP file transfer and perform many other Web-based activities. Currently, MegaBoost™ will not accelerate file downloads (except over FTP), such as music files, or streaming video or audio media.

The exact amount of acceleration can vary, but with MegaBoost™ Web Accelerator, you will notice a significantly faster experience when you visit Web sites, send and receive email, and perform many other Web-based activities. Independent testing has shown that MegaBoost™ compression technology with NOW!Imaging™ accelerates Web browsing on a dial connection up to 20x's faster, delivering the fastest acceleration available on the market today!

MegaBoost™ offers the following value-added services in addition to speeding up your Web and email usage:

MegaBoost™ accelerates your Internet access through proprietary text and image compression, content caching, and other network optimizations techniques.

If you have a slow Internet connection (such as a dial-up, DSL Light, Cable/Broadband Light or wireless connection) with a bandwidth of less than 384Kbps, you will experience a significant degree of acceleration using MegaBoost™.

MegaBoost™ Web Accelerator significantly speeds up web page access. To achieve this acceleration, proprietary lossless compression is applied to text, html, xml, javascript and style sheets. Proprietary image compression is applied to GIF images, JPEG images, PNG images (with MegaBoost™ version 5.0 and later) and Flash content.

MegaBoost™ will also compress and accelerates email traffic (POP3, IMAP and SMTP) and FTP using lossless compression. MegaBoost™ does NOT speed up file downloads (except over FTP) and streaming audio/video at this time.

Yes. MegaBoost™ will work with any Web browser that allows you to specify an HTTP proxy. Here's a list of supported Web browsers:

Make sure that you install the Firefox, Mozilla, or Netscape extension when you install MegaBoost™ Web Accelerator. Once MegaBoost™ is running, start the browser and browse as you normally would. No user intervention is required since MegaBoost™ compression technology operates in the background.

If you encounter any problems, please make sure that the HTTP proxy host is set to "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" and that the port number is set to the same local listening port as the one in your MegaBoost™ Web Accelerator settings. Its default value is 5400. Please refer to the "Troubleshooting" link for detailed information.

Start Internet Explorer and browse as you normally would. MegaBoost™ is launched automatically every time Windows starts. It operates in the background to accelerate your Web connection. No user intervention is required.

Yes. MegaBoost™ can reduce the amount of time it takes to send and receive email. MegaBoost™ accelerates email automatically without any user intervention, so you can use your mail program exactly as you normally would. It is compatible with any POP3/IMAP/SMTP client, including Outlook Express, Eudora, Pegasus, Opera Mail, Mozilla Mail, and Netscape Mail. Email acceleration is enabled by default.

HTTPS acceleration is supported in a different product for enterprises. Normal MegaBoost™ (SP Product) does not accelerate secure transactions. Secure Web sites will continue to work by bypassing the acceleration component.

Minimum system requirements for a PC:

Please make sure that you have configured MegaBoost™ Web Accelerator properly; this includes the correct username, password, server name, and server port number. It is also important to check if you have a valid internet connection.This issue might also be caused by the High Speed Auto-Detection feature. MegaBoost™ Web Accelerator might be disabled once an active high speed connection, such as DSL or cable modem, with speeds in excess of 300Kbps is detected.
