Cancel
your current ISP. Here is how. When you contact your current ISP, tell
them you want to cancel your service effective immediately. Do not accept
their free offers or free extension of service. Get a confirmation number
or the name of the representative who assisted you in cancelling the
service.
Be
extremely wary of Free offers when you attempt to cancel service. Many
ISP's offer free service for a month or two if you agree not to cancel.
Some will even insist that they will keep the service open free for the
next 30 days. Do not use the service. You do not gain any thing by
this except when you attempt to cancel again, you will be charged for the
usage of the service for the past months. Legal clause in the Terms of Use
Agreement with most ISP's allows them to charge you full price of the
service retroactively, if you accept the offer and then decide not to continue service with them
or cancel prior to or when this special or free offer expire. (You can
check out many complaints such as these on the National Better
Business Bureau's website).

them that you want to cancel and don't give in to their offers to
provide you with a free month of internet service. By switching, you
will save much more than 1 month's service fees.
